Epicurean Entrepreneur?
Food producers of the future take note!
If you have talent in the kitchen, a food product up your sleeve and a wish to be on TV, RTE has announced a six part series, Recipe for Success, that will have 15 home cooks battle it out to have their own gastronomic creations stocked on the shelves of one of Ireland’s leading supermarkets.
They are looking for contestants, and certainly you couldn’t dream of getting more publicity for your product launch.
You can download an application here.
Then, if it all goes well, you can enter next year’s food awards!

Great idea! But they would never sell my handmade, hand decorated biscuits in a supermarket for as much as I sell them now

I’ll try to find out.

I’m afraid the competition is only open to amateur home cooks. We want to give people who normally don’t have a chance to show off their gastronomic creations an opportunity for some recognition. We feel allowing professional chefs to enter is an unfair advantage.
I will be in Waterford at the Terra Madre food event this Thursday and Friday if anyone would like to come along and ask questions/fill in an entry form!
Hope to see some of you there!
Aisling.
