Dinners were three courses and dessert. I rememeber the smoked salmon and the game dishes to this day. The interior was very reminiscent of the Porterhouse in Glasnevin, so maybe they're owned by the same crowd. Killarney is confusing now. When I used to go hiking there in my teens, it was a totally different place. I can't believe how many hotels there are now, not all of which add particularly to the aesthetic appeal of the town, especially on the Muckross road. It's still a grand town though. I had a very interesting, tasty and reasonably priced early bird in the Killarney Plaza around Christmas time, which is a handy spot.
